Audi’s Farewell Symphony: The R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition

Date:

Here’s a piece on the special edition Audi R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition, bidding a unique farewell to the luxury car market in Japan. Only eight units are being crafted to mark the end of this beloved lineup in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Audi’s R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition boasts a matte Ibis White exterior and distinctive 20-inch Audi Sport aluminum wheels in matte bronze, paired with eye-catching gloss red calipers. Elements like the mirror caps, front lip spoiler, side blades, side skirts, rear wing, and rear diffuser are all crafted from carbon fiber, while the R8 badges and four-ring emblems sport a sleek black finish, creating a unique aesthetic.

Inside, the cabin of this Japan-exclusive R8 features a striking black-and-Alabaster White two-tone theme. Black Nappa leather adorns the sports seats with contrasting white diamond stitching, complemented by an Alcantara headliner and trunk liner. The steering wheel houses a four-control satellite multifunction button and a dedicated switch for engine sound. Notably, the door sill carries a deep-engraved “Japan Final Edition” inscription to commemorate this limited release.

Buyers of the Audi R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition will receive a VIN Art portrait of their vehicle, a framed piece engraved with their supercar’s chassis number. Housing the celebrated naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine, this R8 delivers an impressive 612 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a seven-speed S-tronic gearbox and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, making it a true masterpiece of engineering.

Priced at around 35,080,000 yen (approximately $246,000 at current exchange rates) and limited to just 8 units, this model becomes an even rarer gem than the ultra-limited TT Special Edition offered in Spain. Both the R8 and TT coupes are poised to be succeeded by electric models, likely within the next two years.
