The Vision and Mission Behind ARTIVISM Nigeria
Temitope Adetoro Yemitan is the founder and executive director of IMUSE Development Foundation, an organization building inclusive communities across Africa through experiential learning in arts, education, gender equality, climate resilience, and civic engagement.
Guided by the tagline My Becoming, the Foundation recognizes that growth and fulfillment are personal journeys shaped by each individual’s experiences, aspirations, and circumstances. Its work serves children, young people, women, men, and persons with disabilities in underserved and marginalized communities.
ARTIVISM Nigeria is a youth-led movement and an initiative of the IMUSE Development Foundation. It uses creative expression to inspire civic engagement, amplify community action, and contribute to social change. The ARTIVISM Nigeria Creative Bootcamp extends this mission into environmental sustainability, connecting creativity with climate action, upcycling, waste recovery, and sustainable entrepreneurship.
Yemitan’s experience spans education, creative practice, sustainability, and community development. Her work has received recognition through initiatives including the UNICEF Generation Unlimited BeGreen Africa Dragon’s Den pitch competition, the Lagos State Government’s StartRight Entrepreneurship Program and humanitarian service awards. The bootcamp draws on this experience alongside the collective efforts of the ARTIVISM Nigeria team, facilitators, guest speakers, and programme partners.
Following an earlier pilot in Yaba and Bariga, the 2026 edition moves to Ifako-Ijaiye, where Yemitan grew up. The move reflects a commitment to community-based learning and expanding access to creative and environmental education. Physical sessions are planned for the Ifako-Ijaiye ICT Centre and Youth Hub in Iju, Lagos State.
Five Facilitators Bringing Sustainability and Business Expertise
The bootcamp features five facilitators with experience in finance, circular fashion, entrepreneurship, electronic waste recovery, and environmental education.
Prince Ademola Adetola, an accounting professional and auditor at the Lagos State House of Assembly, will lead a session on building a business around sustainability. He will explore how environmental challenges can create viable economic opportunities.
Ndaman Joshua Olayinka, a mechanical engineer and founder of BuyScrap Nigeria, will facilitate a session on electronic waste and responsible recovery. His venture has diverted more than 68 tonnes of e-waste from landfills and onboarded over 1,200 customers to its platform.

Rukayat Mojisola Abimbola, Project Lead of Thread of Hope Initiative, will lead a session on textile waste, reuse, and upcycling. Her work in circular fashion and environmental education explores how discarded textiles can be transformed into useful products.
Mojeed Adetokunbo Ojeola, CEO and Executive Director of Global Business Operations and Partnerships at BI-PLATINUMCORP INTERNATIONAL, will address sales and market execution. Having trained and mentored more than 500 aspiring young entrepreneurs in Nigeria, he will share insights on developing ideas into products and services that reach customers.
Temitope Adetoro Yemitan, TRCN, will facilitate a session on environmental impact and climate action. She holds a BA in Creative Arts from the University of Lagos and an NCE in English Language and Theatre Arts from the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta. A certified solid waste manager trained by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), she has upcycled more than four tonnes of textile waste into products through her sustainability work.

Together, the facilitators will help participants connect environmental responsibility with practical skills, creative problem-solving, and business opportunities.
Guest Speakers to Connect Art, Climate Action, and Community Change
Two guest speakers will bring additional perspectives on creative advocacy, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.
Zakari Emmanuel, popularly known as 2plies Zakari, is a spoken-word poet, community organizer, and UNDP Creative 4 Peace awardee. He is the author of The Autopsy: A Poetic Compendium and host of Beyond The Ballot Podcast, which explores governance, elections, and civic life. His opening session will examine how art and storytelling can inspire climate action and social change.
Ashade Abdulsalam Abiodun, a 2024 Mandela Washington Fellow and Technical Adviser on Youth Engagement at the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, will speak at the closing ceremony. His experience spans youth development, environmental sustainability, public policy, and gender inclusion. He is also a certified solid waste manager and recipient of a 2026 African Sustainability and Circular Economy Award.
Their contributions will encourage participants to consider how creative expression, environmental awareness, and community participation can translate into practical action.
