As a young Nigerian girl growing up in the vibrant city of Ibadan, fashion was more than just clothing; it was my language. I loved dressing up, mixing and matching pieces in ways my mom fondly called “Ayo’s style.” I remember winning “Best Dressed” at my church as a teenager and later learning how to cut and sew during my undergraduate summer breaks. Fashion has always been woven into the fabric of my life. The name Arte by Tife was born in my teenage years, with a dream of owning a fashion empire that would leave a mark on the world.
After completing my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I moved to Canada, and while Arte by Tife was officially registered here, my vision evolved. It was no longer just about building my brand; it became about creating opportunities for talented fashion entrepreneurs back home. I wanted to help my own tailor and other talented designers like her showcase the incredible work they were creating. This shift in vision transformed Arte’s direction from just a personal brand to a platform for empowering African designers to reach global markets. Today, Arte by Tife Inc. is a proudly registered Canadian brand committed to connecting local African fashion entrepreneurs with global markets.
