Quidax Partners with AltSchool Africa to Sponsor 100 Students in Tech

Date:

Cryptocurrency exchange, Quidax, yesterday announced that it would be partnering with AltSchool Africa. The partnership covers sponsoring 100 students this year to learn tech skills including software engineering and product management. As well as a paid internship with Quidax for the best graduates.

According to Quidax, the partnership aims to help bridge the gap between the growing demand for tech talent and the shortage of talents needed to meet the demand. According to Quidax CEO and Co-founder, Buchi Okoro, one of the biggest challenges they had faced in the early days was finding the right talent.

“We believe in Africa, and for us, this partnership is an opportunity to invest in the African tech ecosystem”, the Quidax CEO added.

The demand for software engineers is expected to grow by 22% between 2020 and 2030, according to a report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This figure is larger than the 4% average for other careers.
