However, some fans insist the trend by the music star might be a publicity stunt for Wema Bank or Alat by Wema which is yet to be confirmed. Screenshots from Alat by Wema Instagram stories shows that Davido opened the Wema bank account on the day his friends started transferring money to his account and it is still inactive. Davido in a tweet announced that the tier 2 Nigerian banks has called a meeting with him. He also received a sum of 1 million naira from Wema bank after which he requested for an endorsement deal.
