Mr Eazi’s emPawa signs global distribution deal with Kobalt music group

Mr. Eazi’s parent company emPawa Africa has signed a global for tinubu on deal with music rights management company and publishing company Kobalt.

The partnership with kobalt music group includes publishing administration, creative services and sync for all of emPawa’s catalogue and future works.

Earlier this year, Nigerian musician, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known by his stage name Mr Eazi, announced that it has raised $20 million for his Africa Music Fund (AMF) to invest in African music artists. He also announced the partnership between emPawa Africa and music technology company Vydia to launch Cinch Distro – a music distribution platform for new artists at an affordable rate.

emPawa has been taking great steps in the music industry and the partnership between emPawa and kobalt is another great step.

Mr Eazi also initiated the 2018/2019 emPawa100 and 2019/2020 emPawa30 talent incubator program to help new and upcoming African artists access to grants, mentorship, and education in the music industry.

Kobalt, an international distribution company from now will distribute songs of all emPawa artists.

According to music business worldwide, CEO Kobalt Music, Laurent Hubert, in a statement said: “Mr Eazi and his team have built up an impressive catalog in a short amount of time. The excitement from their music and mission should be represented worldwide. And we look forward to supporting them through our global creative teams and administration,”

Furthermore, Mr Eazi said this partnership with Kobalt will build on what we have done over the past year. Maximizing our knowledge of African music, writers, culture and history, now with a global tech-driven partner.

“Not only will we have access to the global Kobalt creative team but, via Kobalt’s tech, we can account properly in real time to everyone we represent. It helps us in our mission of accountability to creatives.”

Kobalt Head of Creative UK, Alison Donald in a statement said, “Eazi is a truly inspiring entrepreneur who seeks to empower other artists alongside his own fruitful career. We are very excited to be in business with emPawa and we look forward to helping take emPawa to a larger worldwide audience.”
