Google has announced that the Apple TV app, including Apple TV+, is now available on the latest chromecast with Google TV, with more Google TV devices to come.
Apple TV for Chromecast can be controlled by Google Assistant speakers and smart displays. It includes all of Apple’s online video streaming content, including movies and TV shows purchased from the iTunes store as well as the Apple TV+ streaming service and any Apple TV Channel add-on subscriptions you might have. Family Sharing allows up to six family members share subscriptions to Apple TV+ and Apple TV channels.
Jonathan Zepp, Google’s director of media and entertainment, says that “You can enjoy Apple Originals, including series like “Ted Lasso,” which was recently nominated for two Golden Globes, “For All Mankind” season two debuting tomorrow, “The Morning Show” and “Servant,” as well as movies like “Greyhound” and “Palmer.”
Play and control TV shows and films on your Google on any TV with Chromecast or Chromecast Built-In using only your voice. This works for the recently launched Chromecast with Google TV.
The Chromecast with Google TV is packed with the latest technology, it streams crystal-clear video in up to 4K HDR at up to 60 frames per second and now has a voice remote. The remote has a dedicated Google Assistant button that helps you find something to watch, answer everyday questions like “how’s the weather?” or dim your compatible smart home lights with just your voice. It also eliminates the need for multiple remotes thanks to programmable TV controls for power, volume and input.
These features will be rolling out globally in the coming months. In addition to Chromecast with Google TV, Android TV models and Google TV models from Sony and TCL are expected to get the Apple TV very soon.
