Airtel, one of Kenya telecommunication service providers recently launched the Airtel TV app that enable airtel users to stream free entertainment content from their mobile phones.
The streaming app, which is subscription-free for airtel users is a “one-stop platform” for entertainment content including movies, music, cartoons, news, sporting news and events , and other exciting contents. Airtel Kenya becomes the first telco in the country to launch a streaming app.
Customers are expected to download the app on Apple store or Google play store and sign up using their Airtel network. Additionally, only registered users can enjoy unlimited access to entertainment on the app.
Launch the app by clicking “Register”, enter registered Airtel mobile numbers and email addresses. Subscribers will need to enter and confirm the OTP received on their devices to complete the registration. Viewers can enjoy watching the content of their choice using data immediately after downloading and registering on the app.
The CEO Airtel Kenya, Prasanta Das Sarma at the unveiling of the new service, said that Airtel TV is set to revolutionize the Video on Demand & Live TV viewing experience via smartphones.
The Video-on-Demand service will offer airtel mobile users in Kenya premium content from popular channels like Universal, Nickelodeon, and the BBC. A report says that Telcos company has acquired the rights to these premium content from global broadcasting channels.
