There are many must-watch shows this year in Nigeria and over the next few months, the long awaited reality TV show, Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) returns after seven years off air. The fan-favourite reality TV show made its debut in 2004 and ran for 11 seasons, with the winner going home with 5 million naira in cash, an SUV and 500,000 naira to shop for clothes.
Ugo Egwuagwu made history in 2004 as Mo he emerged first winner of the show and was awarded the star prize of 3 million naira. While the last season, which held in 2012 in Aguleri forest in Anambra state, saw, the contestants search for ‘The General’s Helmet’, and the winner Chinedu Ubachukwu, who found it was rewarded with 10 million naira and a brand new Ford Explorer car.
Many Nigerians had called out the organizers, Nigerian Breweries Plc to bring back the educative and challenging reality show that kept them glued to the screen. On Tuesday, Gulder beer disclosed the return of Gulder Ultimate search show during a ‘Meet and Greet’ in Ikeja Lagos with journalist and on their social media channels.
The survival reality show sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc dominated the Nigerian airwaves in the early 2000s before it was suspended in 2016. Gulder Ultimate Search 2021 theme is “The Age of Craftsmanship”. The host and prize of this year season is not yet known but we are looking forward to the comeback.

Shortlisted applicants will undergo a regional selection process in Abuja and Enugu on September 13 and 14 while selection process will take place on September 16 and 17, 2021 in Lagos.
How many participants will be selected
18 successful applicants will be selected and tasked with bringing back The Age of Craftsmanship
When will Gulder Ultimate Search 2021 air
The TV reality show, Gulder Ultimate Search with the theme “The Age of Craftsmanship” is set for October 16, 2021 and will run till December 19, when the grand finale will hold

What you need to know before applying for this year Gulder Ultimate Search
- You need a Half-frame picture with a pin background
- Bio-data is required
- Prepare a 1 minute, full frame video of yourself stating why you should participate in this year’s Gulder Ultimate Search
- Fitness level is required while preparing your video
- Aptitude test will be taken during screening
